It’s already Friday and before we start the weekend, we bring you the three top stories of this week:
- This week was Haute Couture week in Paris and Carlota Casiraghi opened the Chanel runway show of the Spring-Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection designed by Virginie Viard on Tuesday (January 25) riding a horse and sporting a black tweed jacket. On its website, Chanel describes this collection with the words “Suspended, fresh, feminine. Between fantasy and reality.”
- The British luxury fashion company Farfetch has bought the ecommerce Violet Grey and thus enters the cosmetics market. Here is the article from modaes.es for more information: “Farfetch enters the cosmetics market with the purchase of Violet Grey platform”.
- Direct-to-consumer pioneer Glossier, which popularized pink and hydrated skin for millennials, is going through a rough patch and had to lay off a third of its workforce on Wednesday (Jan. 26). Now it is up to the company to rewrite its beauty manual and give new life to its brand. If you want to read more we recommend BOF’s article “How Glossier lost its grip”.
From Fashion Business Lawyer we wish you a happy weekend.
