Literary Rendezvous at Rue Cambon

by Maje Pérez-Ramos

Chanel’s latest cultural project is about all-female gatherings filmed at its parisian headquarters. In them, the guests, surrounded by the brand’s visual codes (and impeccably styled) reflect on women and Literature, and connect it all with Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy and the  current values of the House. The first edition explores the life and works of Lou-Andreas Salomé, and the second features writer Camille Laurens.

Despite how interesting and commendable this talks are, the solemnity with which they are filmed and the guest’s hieratic attitude tend to produce a sedative effect on the viewer. Hopefully, next ones will be a little more dynamic and lively.

Coordinated by Charlotte Casiraghi, new ambassador for Chanel, the two editions published so far are available at the brand’s  YouTube channel.
