1. The Fashion  Calendar continues placidly on schedule, oblivious to the international crisis: this week were London and  Milan Fashion Weeks. As usual, the designers at LFW leaned towards eccentricity (see Richard Quinn, Harris Reed o Simone Rocha, for example). Also within the British runway, more conventional palates will enjoy the Molly Godard or Nensi Dojaka shows. In Milan, the fashion shows are, either full of femininity and extravagance alla italiana (Moschino, Cavalli, etc.) or opt for a more contemporary aesthetics like Prada or Fendi.
2. In the meantime, the ghost of war emerges again in Europe: Putin’s troops have begun the invasion of Ukraine amidst the condemnation of the international community. Beyond the first and most important effect of the conflict, the humanitarian crisis, the economic effects of the war are not long in coming. This very interesting article in Modaes by Iria P. Gestal analyses the impact that the war is having so far on the fashion industry and what other consequences can be expected from this situation for the future.
